As you grow older, you will face an increasing number of decisions that will affect your future. Although you will continue to gain advice and direction from your parents or guardians and teachers, eventually you must be the one to take responsibility for yourself and your actions. Personal Managemeht is about taking control of your life.
Pre-Requisites – …“Be Prepared”
Please read the latest version of the Personal Management merit badge book prior to the class. These books can be borrowed from your Troop Librarian, or ordered from The Atlanta Area Scout Shop, phone (770) 988-9912, or visit the Scout Shop at 1800 Circle 75 Parkway, Se, Atlanta, GA 30339. Please print out a copy of the Personal Management Workbook and bring a copy with you to the class. By using this Requirements Resources link (use only with your parent's permission) you will find additional information that will help you with your prerequisite tasks.
For this Merit Badge Class you will be required to work on a few of the requirements before coming to the class.
Requirement # 1a, b & c …To assist you in completing these requirements please refer to pages 12 to 19 in your Personal Management merit badge book, and capture all you notes in the workbook you printed out.
Requirement # 2a & b … To assist you in completing this requirement please read pages 20 to 25 in the Personal Management merit badge book. Please enter your notes/budget into the Worksheet that you printed out and be prepared to discuss your budget in class with your Counselor. In order to get this requirement signed off in class you will must have been tracking and recording your actual income and expenses against your budget for at least thirteen weeks prior to class and send me a copy of your budget for pre-approval.
Requirement # 8a, b, c & d … To assist you in completing this requirement please read pages 45 to 53 in the Personal Management merit badge book. Please enter your notes into the Worksheet that you printed out and be prepared to discuss your budget in class with your Counselor. In order to get this requirement signed off in class you will must have been tracking and recording your actual income and expenses against your budget for at least thirteen weeks prior to class and bring to class for your counselor to review.
